Alerts are generated automatically from public data: a change in the Lab's risk score for a country, or a significant move (≥15% and ≥50 projected fatalities) in the VIEWS state-based conflict forecast. VIEWS figures are a conflict forecast, not a prediction of mass atrocities, and are never averaged into the risk score. Alerts are signals to review, not verified findings.
